Terms of Service
Last updated 15 August 2026.
Every clause below carries a plain restatement beside it. The clause is what binds; the restatement is what it means. If the two ever disagree, tell us, because we’ve drafted it badly.
1. Who we are
Crossplay (“we”, “us”) is operated by Helgi T. Johannsson, a sole trader based in Iceland. You can reach us at [email protected].
In plain terms: one named person in Iceland, not a faceless company, and the email above is the real one.
2. What the service does
We operate an Xbox Live account on your behalf which publishes a joinable session pointing at your Minecraft server, so that console players can join through their friends list. We monitor that arrangement and alert you when it stops working.
We do not host your Minecraft server, we do not carry your players’ gameplay traffic, and we do not provide Geyser, Floodgate, or Minecraft itself.
In plain terms: we get console players to your door. Everything behind the door is still yours.
3. What you need to provide
- A Minecraft server that is reachable and correctly configured for Bedrock clients (typically Geyser and Floodgate). Our free check will tell you whether it is.
- Accurate contact details, so we can reach you when something breaks.
- Compliance with the rules of any platform you use, including Microsoft’s and Mojang’s terms.
In plain terms: keep your own server working and your email current. We can’t warn you about a fault if we can’t reach you.
4. The dependency you should understand
Crossplay relies on Xbox Live services that Microsoft does not publish or document for this purpose. Microsoft may change or restrict them at any time, without notice to us. If that happens, console joining may stop working temporarily or permanently, and we may be unable to fix it.
We will tell you promptly if it happens, and you can cancel at any time. We do not guarantee that the service will continue to be technically possible.
In plain terms: this is the real risk of buying from us, and we would rather you read it here than find out later. If Microsoft ends it, we stop charging you and refund the unused period — see the refund policy.
5. Accounts we operate for you
The Xbox account used for your server is created and controlled by us. You do not receive its credentials. If you stop using Crossplay, that account and its friend list remain ours, and your players will lose access through it.
We may need to sign that account in again from time to time. We will do so without involving you wherever possible.
In plain terms: you are renting the account, not buying it. If you leave, you don’t take the friends list with you. That is the honest shape of the deal and we’d rather say it here than have you discover it on the way out.
6. Acceptable use
You must not use Crossplay:
- for a server that breaches Minecraft’s EULA or commercial guidelines;
- to distribute unlawful material, or to target or harass anyone;
- to attempt to gain access to accounts, systems or data that are not yours;
- in any way likely to cause the accounts we operate to be suspended or banned.
We may suspend or terminate service immediately for a breach of this section, and will tell you why.
In plain terms: don’t run something that gets our accounts banned, and don’t use us to hurt people. If we cut you off, we tell you what for.
7. Availability
We aim to keep the service running continuously, but we do not offer a guaranteed uptime level, and we do not provide service credits. We monitor continuously and will act on faults as quickly as we reasonably can.
In plain terms: no SLA, and we’re not going to invent one to look bigger than we are. What we do promise is that we will know about a fault before you do, and that a real outage on our side is refundable.
8. Charges
- Fees are as shown on our pricing page at the time you subscribe.
- Subscriptions renew monthly until cancelled.
- We will give at least 30 days’ notice by email before increasing a price.
- If payment fails, we will warn you before suspending the service.
- Paddle.com Market Ltd is the merchant of record and appears on your statement.
In plain terms: monthly, cancellable, no surprise increases, and we won’t silently cut you off over a failed card.
9. Cancelling
You may cancel at any time; the service continues to the end of the paid period. See our refund policy for your statutory cancellation rights.
In plain terms: one button in your dashboard, no retention call, no “email us to cancel”.
10. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else which cannot lawfully be limited.
Subject to that, our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period. We are not liable for lost players, lost donations, lost revenue, or loss of goodwill.
If you are a consumer rather than a business, your statutory rights are unaffected by anything here.
In plain terms: if we cause you a loss, the most you can claim is what you paid us. That is a normal limit for a service at this price, and we are telling you rather than hiding it in a wall of capitals.
11. Your players’ data
Operating this service means we handle the gamertags of players who add our join account. You should make sure your own privacy notice tells your players that a third-party service is used to provide console access. See our privacy policy for what we hold and for how long.
In plain terms: we see gamertags, nothing else about your players. You should mention us in your own server’s privacy notice.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you, we will email you at least 30 days beforehand, and you may cancel if you do not accept it.
In plain terms: no quiet rewrites. Anything that actually affects you comes with a month’s warning and an exit.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by Icelandic law, and the courts of Iceland have exclusive jurisdiction.
In plain terms: Icelandic law, because that is where we are. If you are an EEA consumer, your local consumer protections still apply on top.
14. Not affiliated
Crossplay is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Mojang Synergies AB, Microsoft Corporation, Xbox, or the GeyserMC project. Minecraft is a trademark of Mojang Synergies AB.
In plain terms: nobody official has blessed this. See clause 4.
